DOCUMENTARY:  THE UNSUNG MUSICIANS OF THE MOTOWN EMPIRE – THE ORIGINAL VANDELLAS

Detroit, Michigan – December 27, 2013.  Duane Parham, the man with the saxophone, laid it aside for a few minutes to investigate why horn players of the Motown Empire have been overlooked, underrated and maybe . . . forgotten.  History talks about Motown singers, percussionists, keyboardists, bassists and pianists, but is silent when it comes to the great horn players who contributed so much to make the “Motown sound.”

What did Parham do?  He made a documentary entitled The Unsung Musicians of the Motown Empire—a documentary which will be shown at The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History on December 27, 2013.   Accentuating the debut of the documentary will be a performance of Parham’s new song “Detroit City is Coming Back” by  The Original Vandellas . . . a must see and hear, so grab your ticket and get ready!

Tickets are available at the box office at the Museum (313) 494-5800 or (248) 705-7229.

Parham says, “These great “Unsung Musicians” blew (the) breath of life that formed music into their instruments on some of the greatest memorable celebrated hit recordings. However, they have been un-named and un-celebrated until now. This documentary will . . . educate and enlighten you . . . !”

Educational Arts Society Inc, spearheading the song with Parham, expects the documentary to correct an overdue wrong and shed light on these musicians.
